Des's Cabs Group of Companies

Des’s Cabs started in Whyalla in 1963 and over the subsequent fifty plus years has expanded to include taxi, bus and hire car operations across South Australia.

Des’s latest acquisition of Peninsular Taxis in Victor Harbor & Goolwa strengthens our southern areas presence and allows former long term owners Simon & Sandra Reynolds to ease into retirement.

Having had the business longer than anyone else and succeeded in dragging it “kicking and screaming into the 21st Century” their intention is to quietly fade into the distance.

Des’s have invested significantly in Victor Harbor & Goolwa both with the purchase of all twelve taxis and also in setting up a “new” remote call centre in Hindmarsh.

The taxi fleet includes three wheelchair accessible taxis and two maxi taxis.

Peninsular Taxis local telephone numbers are unchanged. The National number 131 008 is easiest inside Victor Harbor. Otherwise either 08 8552 2622 for a Victor Harbor taxi or 08 8552 8222 for a Goolwa Taxi from outside.

Keep an eye out for some subtle changes to be rolled out to the taxi fleet livery including the Des’s distinctive green and yellow reflective striping.

Peninsular Taxis are the longest serving taxi service in the area having been operating for over twenty five years. Whether it’s a shopping excursion, a winery tour, a trip to the local doctors or to Adelaide Peninsular Taxis can take you there.

With both Mt Barker Taxis and Peninsular Taxis Des’s now cover most places from Cape Jervis and the Fleurieu Peninsula through Strathalbyn and the Adelaide Hills to Murray Bridge.
